The village is of wooden buildings with pitched roofs. Traffic within the centre is on foot, by bike, or on skis.

Location

Tahko centre is situated on the lake side in Kuopio, eastern Finland. Tahko, a popular holiday destination, is located on the other side of the bay.

Alluring tourism

The village is divided into flexible sub-areas to enable construction phasing. Each area has its own functional character.

Village streets and routes

The area has a variety of pleasant routes on a village scale. Vehicular traffic is externalized and parking located close to local highway intersections.

The scenic village adds a cosy counterpoint to the imposing Tahkovuori mountain.
