Korttelikylä completed in Jyväskylä

The student housing block Korttelikylä – ’Urban Village’ – in Jyväskylä, Finland has been completed. The clients were Soihtu and Central Finland Student Housing Foundation.

There are 385 flats in the block, but the large complex has been broken down into small narrow masses which create interesting urban spaces around the block. The versatility is further showcased in the shades of brick masonry, mortar-jointing methods, and different balcony and fenestration types.
