Enlivening supplementary construction in Jyväskylä centre

INARO’s reference plan for the Kyllikinkatu block in Jyväskylä will be put on display. The reference plan is based on INARO’s study of the planning principles in Alakaupunki area. The supplementary construction draws inspiration from the surrounding area. Gable roofs follow the angle and direction of the nearby 1940s houses. The public park in the middle of the block feels bigger in size thanks to the courtyards opening onto the park. In addition, in front of the retracted lamellae along the streets, there is space for green pocket parks. The high, flexible spaces on the ground floor animate the urban space.
