Re-thinking urban housing -seminar

We are doing a study concerning the needs of urban families together with Johanna Lilius, a researcher from the Aalto University. Our recently completed price-regulated rental housing in Sompasaari was presented today at the  Re-Thinking Urban Housing  Seminar. The client in this project was A-Kruunu Oy.

Urban families need much space, and the possibility of adjusting their apartments. Modern family types are setting new challenges for housing design. Accordingly we designed flexible solutions like lofts and alcoves. Two-storey attached houses which are embedded in the apartment building but which still have their own private entrances provide the connection to the green courtyard, essential for urban families.
