New wood construction in Helsinki

A low-rise housing block of 11 flats is under construction in Haaga, Helsinki. It is made out of CLT construction elements. The design subtly complements the city scape of the area, fitting in with the gable roofs and rendered facades of the 1950s and 1960s in the surrounding blocks. Most of the apartments open in three directions and the large windows bring in plenty of light. The wooden surface has been left visible as much as possible to bring about a cozy atmosphere. The client in the project was Woodberg Oy and the project will be completed in June.
