Green courtyards in a maritime neighbourhood

INARO have designed two courtyard gardens in Sompasaari, Helsinki. The unifying theme of both Diana and Venus gardens embodies a soft curvature in contrast with the surrounding perpendicular building volumes.

Diverse and abundant planting plays a central role in compact urban environment, creating an experience for the residents which changes with the seasons. Together the courtyard gardens and small street-side squares create an intriguing series of urban spaces.
