Alakaupunki development principles on display

The development principles of the Alakaupunki area in Jyväskylä are currently on display. The principles are based on the analysis of the urban and green structure of the area and will be used to guide changes in the town plan and rehabilitation of street areas and parks in Alakaupunki. The aim is to strengthen the spirit of Alakaupunki, which is quite lush and located close to the city centre. The development of the area must take into account the cultural and historical values, the importance of street greenery in the cityscape, and the quality of walking and cycling routes. Separate design principles have been prepared for the streetside yards, which reinforce the lushness of the area.
